Resumen artículo
En este trabajo se efectúa un estudio sobre la simbología del Trabajo social a través del simbolismo iconográfico del emblema publicado por el Boletín Oficial del Estado el 18 de Noviembre de 1966. Para ello, se reflexiona en primer lugar, sobre la importancia y el valor de los símbolos para las personas de todas las culturas y civilizaciones, ya que la cultura se transmite y manifiesta por símbolos. Después, se analizan los símbolos, signos, unidades de significado y formas de pensamiento simbólico de trabajo social y se finaliza con un pequeño epílogo sobre la tensión comunicante de sus atributos y algunas de sus correspondencias con el trabajo social.

Abstract article
This study is about the symbolism of social work through the iconographic symbolism of the emblem published by the Official Bulletin of the State on 18th of November 1966. First of all, it is a reflexion on the importance and the value of the symbols for people from different cultures and civilizations, since the culture is transmitted and demonstrates by symbols. Later, it is an analysis about symbols, signs, units of meaning and forms of symbolic thought of the emblem of social work. At the end it has small epilogue on the communicating tension of their attributes and correspondences with the social work.
